Privacy policy

Template text. Have it reviewed for your practice and jurisdiction before you publish.
Law Office LLC ("we", "us") runs this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect through it, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
This site has two forms, and each collects only what we need to reply:
- Consultation request (Book a consultation). Required: your name, email address, the type of matter, how urgent it is, your preferred day, how you would like to be contacted, and your agreement to be contacted. Optional: a phone number and a short note (up to 300 characters).
- Enquiry (Ask a question). Required: your name, email address, the topic, your question (up to 500 characters), and your agreement to a reply.
Neither form takes files, dates of birth, ID or account numbers, or details of other people.
Please keep notes and questions general. Do not include confidential details, account numbers or other people’s personal details. We take the facts of a matter in the consultation, under legal privilege, and keep client files in our own case-management system, not on this website.
Our hosting provider records basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To answer your request and arrange a consultation.
- To check for conflicts of interest before we meet, which we must do by law.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse.
- If you accept analytics, to understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with services that help us run the site, under contracts that protect it:
- Website hosting (for example Cloudflare or Vercel).
- Storage of consultation requests and enquiries (for example Cloudflare KV or Upstash), so we can answer them.
- Email delivery of those requests to us (for example Resend).
- Spam protection on both forms, when switched on (Cloudflare Turnstile).
- Visitor analytics, only if the site has it switched on and you accept it (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
- Google Maps, only if you click “Load the map” on the page; until then no request goes to Google.
Once you become a client, your matter is covered by our engagement letter and by legal professional privilege, which is stricter than this policy.
How long we keep it
Consultation requests that do not become matters are deleted within 12 months. Client files are kept for as long as professional rules require, then destroyed securely.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email hello@example.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Changes and contact
We will post any changes on this page with a new date. Questions? Contact Law Office LLC at hello@example.com, 48 Sample Street, Suite 300, Sample City, OR 97000.
